Through a child's eyes

Paint-a-wish
I am part of an organization that creates activities for children with chronic diseases.
Gives the parents a little break
throws a smile on the faces of the children
makes my heart grow a little bigger

"Remember that the happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more."
- Jackson Brown

look beyond the leprechaun trap and trees

i wish i could see her world
This picture reminds me of the movie Neverland.
to the naked eye...she's just playing in the trees
through her telescope.. she is in a magical world full of little green men, rainbows, and pots of gold!
she even made me a telescope so i could help her scope out the leprechaun that ate her cupcake!

It was such a fun day full of cupcake decorating, bean bag tosses, plant growing, and trap making.

something i must brag about:
the bean bags.
yes i did use a sewing machine to make them.
yes i did sew in a straight line.
yes i did do it myself.
yes i did make nine of them.
....
and yes we all tried to juggle hahaha
ash is leaving math ed and starting a routine for the circus
mal and katie are catching on quickly.
i on the other hand..well...ill stick to making the bean bags.
hmmm maybe i am getting a hold of this womanhood thing.
first bean bags..next a skirt maybe?

A tribute to my Mal Gal

let me speak of this wonderful girl right here:
For your indulgence let me introduce you to Mallory Hart!
I love her.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY YOUNG 20 YR OLD!

You know when  you meet people and you just fit so perfectly together?
I tease a lot but I really do think we were friends in a world of the past.
side-traction
We were roommates our freshman year of college along with our Ashley.
Together. unstoppable. the three of us made up the chimpunks:
first roommate picture ever!
not quite sure we even like each other yet in this picture.
well we do now! enough to endure each other for another year

back to Mal

*we always tease about her being a Woman of Opinion.
I hope it is never taken as demeaning that we tease.
I think it's great that she knows exactly what she wants and is not ashamed of it
* Mal is a woman full of profound wisdom for the minimal years of life she has fulfilled.
She  has taught me things from how to make brownies to how to fill my life with the spirit
*Mal really does live life to the fullest. We never have a dull moment.
Whether it be just talking before we sleep, going dancing, or going out for Macey's ice cream
I enjoy her presence, witty comments, and how she can read my mind
* Mal is probably one of the most consistent friends I have met.
If I am having a mid life crisis at the age of 18, she always comes through.

"Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one." C.S. Lewis
This is my friend Mal, she is part of my college home..because home is where the heart is.. and when we met, she became a part of it.

Sick as a Dog

PREFACE:  this past week my friend Michael paid me a little visit. I was soooo excited for him to come!! He is leaving on his mission fairly soon to Arizona, spanish speaking for two years so this is one of the last times i get to see him. The day he is supposed to fly in he sends me a text, low and behold, he has a fever. BLAST! no big deal. this kid never fails me. he comes anyways. We have such a great time. we just do a quick grocery run so we can make dinner the next day. I have known him from six years and never knew of his culinary skills. Here is the proof:

Our own little Mexican Fiesta
Michael left the water running for a little too long. minor bubble fight.

. ALSO:
greatest thing- The first time Michael and I reunited we decided to go to ChuckeCheese. We were 16. we also go carded. yes. carded. we were not eighteen so we weren't allowed into this child friendly zone.
sooooo
i get this text..
viv, I have a childhood promise I made to you that I need to fulfill.

Yes, we went to ChuckeCheese with his niece Anjalina. It was soo much fun!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
for an amazing two days.

Longest PREFACE ever
shall we recall he was sick?
well now mall and I have also fallen.
Blast.

In effort to bring light into these dark ages, I was thinking of the things that have brought laughter in my life this past week.
1. The Cosby Show~
that family is full of laughs, it's almost like being back home. And isn't
Raven the cutest little nugget ever??
2. Tropicana caps~
LOOK! they're mini oranges, i just noticed.

3. Cassi's chicken soup~
it literally touched my heart and warmed my soul.
I have never had anything so tasty.
4. my lip~
The other night I was droozed.
The medicine I was on had overcome my being.
I was sitting talking to my cassi girl and then my lip just started swelling.
I had no explanation. Then my lip went momentarily numb. I could not
not stop licking my lip.
5. My Family ~
I have never seen so much family. All three of my aunts
came to visit me with gifts of food in hand. They
really do pull through and I love each of them so much.
6. Brethren ~
In light of the dark situation, I invited our good old home teacher
to our house. He provided the sweetest laying on of hands experience.
Later, he came with sandwiches.
7. Ashley ~
She has been amazing! I have never seen anyone with a stronger immune system either.
It really is a surprise she hasn't caught the spreading plague.
She has taken us to the doctor, made us soup, made us brownies
and just taken care of us. I love her.
Currently the best remedy: the love of family and friends
The storm shall pass. As for now, I'm alive and happy.

*sidenote: funny how just when you're losing your voice, the whole world seems to call

what's in a name...

my name: Vivian Danella Zamora
the middle name is nothing less than
crucial
half my identity lies in "Danella"
my second entity. my first life.
just call me hannah montana. i do indeed
have a second persona or visage if you please.

Danella~God is my judge
Vivian~full of life,
name of the Lady of the Lake, an enchantress... cool
i'll take it!
most people wish they were named differently
i don't.

vivian is alive and exciting, danella sweet and savvy
both together. so eloquent.
never heard a name like it.it's like shopping for a dress in a boutique rather than target. classy and unique.
good job parents

although
vivian is my first name, most[including myself] only knew danella for my first years of life.
why???
my parents failed to tell me of "vivian"
i got to kindergarten and my teacher called out to me.
no reply.
that's the moment i learned i was a vivian.who knew?
i sure didn't.
she, ms. awalk, barbie of a teacher, asked if i preferred
to be known as danella. naahhhhh. this proves i have always been  up to trying new things...like my first name.
I settled.
Vivian at school. Danella at church.
my worlds quickly collided and turned into a mash up of Vanilla

Got to BYU, school integrated with church.oy. I couldn't play this game anymore.

so now i'm simply vivian to the world and danella at home with the minor close friend exceptions.
but i never want to lose either name.
they're just so...me!
